Art News

Who is hungry? We can solve that problem with our delicious doughnuts! They are made with love using foil, newspaper, glue, paint

and varnish; then topped off with sprinkles. We are not sure that we will be putting any bakeries out of business anytime soon, but we had a lot of fun learning how to paper mache.

If doughnuts don't tempt your taste buds, why not try one of our incredible ice-creams. Made from air hardening modelling clay,  these treats really do look good enough to eat!

MARC  Library

In MARC this term we are looking at the Nature Storybooks series. These are hybrid books containing both a story and facts. Using information about bees and inspiration from the series we are writing our own version of a Nature Storybook. Students have helped write the text and will illustrate their own copy of the book.

Prep/One/Two News

Mrs Lightburn is on leave for two weeks and so this news is being brought to you by Miss Duffy and the P,1,2 Superstars!

Our students wrote some fantastic Kite Shaped Poems that followed the formula of using a noun, two adjectives, three verbs, two adverbs and an onomatopoeia or sound at the end.

We have also been working hard on improving our automatic addition and subtraction skills through games and activities that have "real world" context. This includes a unit of Money and the students are very exited to begin the process of creating a classroom shop.

Year Three-Six News

How do you make reading a little more exciting for our senior students? READERS THEATRE! During these literacy sessions we read a text, choose our roles, make props and then practice before performing them in front of the junior room and staff. Check out the pictures of our 'Lion and Mouse' performance.

Music News

Sadly our final Song Room music session with our wonderful facilitator Darren is next Wednesday. Darren has been with us for ten sessions over Terms 3 and 4 and has encouraged each of our students to sing, dance and play instruments to the best of their ability. Our students spend each session laughing and actively participating in the activities that he has planned. See the dedicated Music Page in this newsletter for an opportunity to come and see what we have been up to.
