MADD WEEK
MR JEREMY WOOD - CURRICULUM LEADER ARTS
Towards the end of Term 3, our school celebrated everything art (visual and performing) during our annual MADD Week. There were lunchtime activities which included 'Just Dance', an Impromptu Music Jam, and a Chalk Art session with our Committee Captains; Angelica Watson and Macy McMahon. The week ended with the much anticipated MacKillop’s Got Talent (MGT) which was held over two days due to this year’s large number of participants. The Arts Committee would like to say a special thank you to the following students who were brave enough to perform at MGT; Lakeisha O’Sullivan, Ned Ryan, Catherine Morpeth, Zion Rodriguez, Keenan Dryer, Jasper Roda, James Xi, Harry McCreesh, Emily ‘the Great’ Edwards. And of course, the staff acts, ABBA (Talia Henderson, Sally OptHoog, Rianne Quaife, and The Haz-Beans (Ed Sholtens, Jeremy Wood, Rianne Quaife) who performed ACDC’s iconic headbanger ‘Highway to Hell’.
Congratulations to those students who won prizes kindly donated by Headspace Swan Hill. First place was awarded to Jasper Roda who played guitar and sang an original song. Second place was awarded to Harry McCreesh who shredded the lead guitar on a Metallica track, and third place was awarded to James Xi who performed a composition on violin.
The Arts Committee would like to thank all those staff and students who helped to make this week so special.
