50th Annual Georgy Awards Nomination
Gracie York, of Year 12, has been nominated for an award at the 50th Annual Georgy Awards to be announced in November.
Her nomination is for the category ‘Best Junior Performer in a Senior Production’, and is for her role as Lisa in the Wangaratta Players ‘Ladies in Black’ production.
Congratulations Gracie and good luck for November’s announcement.

Jacinta Snowdon, a student in our Year 8 Experimental Practice class, hawon first prize at the Wangaratta Show for her stunning portrait that was completed as part of her studies on Street Art.
Jacinta studied the Italian street artist Alice Pasquini.
We are so proud of her and think that her emotion filled but hopeful work is so deserving of this prize!
This drawing was originally designed to be a mural for the walls of M Building, wouldn't it look amazing. Well done Jacinta.
Wangaratta Show Equestrian Success
Year 7 student, Lacy Solimo saw success recently with her horse Park Avenue William at the Wangaratta Show, winning champion in her ridden hunter Galloway class. Lacy also won 1st place in her horses height division in the working hunter 75cm, taking home the $150 prize money.
Lacy is also a member of the Wangaratta High School equestrian team.

Guest speaker at the event was author/illustrator Mal Webster, who spoke of his love of writing and illustrating children's books, including his most recent release, 'Ship Ahoy! Box Boy'.
Judges of the competition acknowledged the high standard of entries received, and the difficulty they encountered in deciding the eventual winners in each section.
Year 9 student Clara Rocchiccioli won 1st place for her work titled ‘Library books’ in the Years 9, 8 & 9 category.
Year 11 student Anika Robinson won 2nd place in the Years 10, 11 & 12 Poetry / Song Lyrics category for her piece ‘Drowned’.

Coen Coppinger of Year 8 competed in a scooter competition on the 15th October, 2023 in Yackandandah.
Congratulations Coen for medalling in the event and taking home 2nd place!
