Connect: Year 4

Dear 4A and 4B families,

Welcome to our camp edition of Connect.

It was a pleasure to take the Grade Fours to Phillip Island Adventure Resort. They embodied respect, formed new relationships, braved resilience and took on responsibility. Ella, our camp leader, said they were one of the best groups she has had the pleasure of working with. It was great to hear their success celebrated at our school assembly. A massive thank you to our parent helpers Ben, Helen and Kelly.

Day One

After the very exciting bus trip, we arrived at San Reno for lunch and Pelican Feeding. While waiting for the pelicans to arrive, a string ray graced us with it presence. Fearing the worse that our pelican feed would in fact be a sea gull feed and string ray watch, we finally had the arrival of a pelican.

Arrival at camp, was met with excitement to discover their sleeping buddies and to start their first round of activities.

We ended our first day with a night bush walk, where we used the Habit of the Mind - 'Gathering Data Through all Senses' to discover the noises of the bush at night.

Day Two

Some were up bright and early ready to get the day started while others needed coaching out of bed by their peers after such a busy first day. We started with another round of rotations.

We took a break from the camp and headed down to the beach.

Time to relax!!!

Day Three

Our last day arrived quickly and was met with mixed emotions; excitement of going home and sadness for leaving camp. Before breakfast we had to pack and vacate the cabins ready for the cleaners and what an efficient jobs the Grade Fours did of this. Well done. After fuelling ourselves for the day ahead, we said good bye to our Leader Ella and Phillip Island Adventure Restore and headed for Nobbies Beach.

Our final stop before leaving the island was Cowes Foreshore for lunch and a play.

Good byes are hard.
