WELCOME

We welcome Michael van Hooren to our First Nations Education Officers team, he will be working with Trenae Jia to provide the best possible outcomes for our students and to build on the strong cultural foundations.  We also welcome the initiative from the First Nations Directorate from Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns (CEDC) who are working with Australian Training Works . It was a wonderful opportunity for families with students in years 9-12 to hear and see first-hand the potential that is on offer at the end of Year 12 through apprenticeships.  Tony Martens and his team provided information to families on some future focused projects they are actively engaged in providing apprenticeships for, such as the conversion of an old gold mine to provide hydro-electricity.

IGNITE CONFERENCE 2023

CLICK HERE TO READ STUDENT REFLECTION

Ms. Helena Tutoe and Mrs. Narelle Mears accompanied 6 students to Ignite Conference 2023 'WONDER'. The students were able to enhance their faith attending explosive rallies, phenomenal keynote speakers, powerful rituals, incredible catholic faith knowledge but most of all the extraordinary conviction ‘that we are made to be loved and that we are all worthy.’ Our students loved every moment, and we continue to be in deep gratitude to all those who helped us to attend. We have been sent forth with an invitation to be a #missio, taking Jesus into the world by how we choose to live our life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may may not perish but may have eternal life.” ~ John 3:16  With renewed faith, unwavering hope, and profound love, we thank you all for your love and prayers.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS APPEAL

St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal has started.  Please add an item from the list below to your grocery list and then donate it to your child’s pastoral group hamper.  This initiative runs for Term 4;  if each child contributes four item, we would fill 186 hampers, that would help St Vincent de Paul support families over the Christmas period. I ask that as you select items, please check the USE BY/BEST BEFORE DATE. Ideally, this will be JUNE 2024 or later.

NOTE: Please do not give toys/gifts as other organisations are doing this.
