Have you completed the Christian Schools Community Profile Survey

The Parent Survey closes on Friday 3 November.

Christian Schools Australia (CSA) Christian Schools Community Profile: Parent Survey is now open. As a parent of Emmaus Christian College, you are invited to complete the survey and contribute to this important, national data collection. It’s the only survey of its kind that is specifically designed for Christian school communities.

HOW TO ACCESS THE SURVEY

All Emmaus parents were sent an email on 6 September with the link to access the online, anonymous survey.  It will take up to 20 minutes to complete.

We value your participation in the survey which will assist our College in making informed decisions and highlight opportunities for improvement. Also, it will assist CSA in providing support to strengthen Christian Schools within Australia.

If you have any questions, or would like the survey access link resent, please contact Sonia Wood at swood@emmauscc.sa.edu.au

Thank you for your valued input into our Christian school community and Christian schooling across Australia!

Safety First: Use the Pedestrian Crossing at South Plympton

Our College is committed to the safety of our students, and that includes making sure they cross the road safely. We have a pedestrian crossing at Lynton Avenue, South Plympton for this purpose, however we are concerned that some students are still crossing the street at the northern Lynton Avenue gate, near the buses.

This northern ‘bus gate’ is not a safe place to cross, as students cannot see oncoming traffic and drivers may not be able to see them. In recent years, there have been several near misses at the bus gate.

We are asking all students and parents to please use the pedestrian crossing at all times. This is the safest way to cross the road, and it will help to prevent accidents.

Staff will be asked to redirect students to the pedestrian crossing, if they are seen attempting to cross elsewhere.

As drivers, please be aware of the pedestrian crossing and drive slowly and carefully. Tunnel vision is a common issue, so please be extra cautious when approaching the crossing.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We want to make sure that all of our students are safe when they are coming and going from school.

Campus Principal, South Plympton

Celebrate our Teachers on World Teachers' Day

Australia will celebrate the teaching profession on World Teachers’ Day on Friday 27 October 2023.

Let’s celebrate our amazing Christian teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our students.

We will make sure our teachers feel special by hosting a morning tea for them at both our campuses and our students will be showering them with 'thank yous'.

You can show your appreciation of our Teachers by:

  • Sending your teacher a note of encouragement
  • Bringing in some yummy treats to share at the morning tea on 27 October
  • Share your “hats off” selfie to celebrate teachers and tell us what they mean to you.

On Friday 27 October, you can show your appreciation by posting a “hats off” selfie on social media, either on your own or with family or friends. Grab your hat – beret, beanie, bucket, bowler – and remember to tag @emmauschristiancollege #WorldTeachersDay @aitsl

Book Clubs for ELC and Junior School Families

Dear Parents

This year, we have provided both the Bilby Book Club and Scholastic Book Club for ELC and Junior School families. Unfortunately, Bilby's has decided to stop running their book club however we are pleased to continue to provide the Scholastic Book Club once each term.

Scholastic Book Club is an obligation-free, affordable and convenient way to purchase books for your children. 15% of every purchase on Book Club is allocated to the College library in ‘Scholastic Rewards’ which we then use to purchase new books.

How to purchase through Scholastic Book Club

Scholastic Book purchases can be made simply and directly through the LOOP App.

We will no longer be accepting cash orders at school.

Please use your discretion when selecting books. There may be books in the catalogue that do not align with the ethos of Emmaus Christian College, as this is a secular book club.

The final Scholastic Book Club for 2023 will arrive during Week 1 or 2. Orders must be placed by Monday, 30 October, 2023.

If you have any questions please contact us at library@emmauscc.sa.edu.au or call 8292 3888.

Kind regards

Alicia Buxton, Teacher Librarian

Veronica Scheepers, School Librarian, South Plympton

Your help in the canteen will be greatly appreciated.

Most of our parents and caregivers generously volunteer once a term.  Starting time is between school drop off and 9am and finishing between 1.30pm and 2pm or school pick up. To become a canteen volunteer, please register here.

We will then contact you with all the information you'll need to know about volunteering and the induction process. All volunteers and parent helpers are required to provide the College with a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). To apply for a WWCC, please visit the SA Government website.

For more information, please visit the College website here. If you have any questions, please contact us on volunteer@emmauscc.sa.edu.au or call 8292 3888.

God Bless
