French Excursion 

On Tuesday 29 August the Year 10 and 11 French classes participated in "L’écoute de Melbourne" excursion. It was very beneficial for my French as the audio was just above our speaking level; paired with the context of the cultural and historical sights of Melbourne we were able to eventually piece together the audio and complete the activities. My highlight was stopping off at the French Macaron shop; La belle Miette as the macarons there were so incredible and flavourful! Here we had to order in French. Overall the day taught me new french vocabulary and about Melbourne’s history.

Excursion français - mardi le 29 août 2023 (French with Translation) 

Hier, je suis allée en ville. Je regardais les oiseaux au parc et j’ai répondu aux questions sur Melbourne. C'était très amusant parce que c'était très calme et joli mais malheureusement il faisait un temps de chien. A neuf heures je suis arrivée en ville et je me suis assise avec mes amis. Après que tout le monde soit arrivé, nous avons commencé la journée. Premièrement, nous avons visité la belle miette et j'ai acheté deux macarons pour $5.80. Les macarons étaient petits mais ils étaient très délicieux, ils étaient nouveau pour moi parce que je n’avais pas mangé un macaron de lavande déjà. Ensuite, j’ai fini de travailler à l'école. J’ai écouté un audio sur Melbourne.

Puis, je suis allée au café avec mes amis, nous avons mangé a ‘la roule galette’. C'était très incroyable, la galette était délicieuse et les saveurs étaient parfaites. J’ai mangé une galette de pesto, une crêpe de lotus et une crêpe de pomme avec Ashley et Coco. Mon préféré c'était la galette de pesto parce que le lotus était trop sucré et le pommeau était trop riche et fort. Maintenant, je veux cuisiner une galette de pesto à ma maison. Aussi, j’ai parlé avec ma mère hier et elle veut visiter ‘la roule galette’ avec moi, c’est très bien parce que si je visite la cafe avec elle je n’aurai pas besoin d’utiliser mon argent. Finalement, j'ai vu les magasins, ils étaient très beaux et les bijoux était très cher donc je pourrais rêver souvent sur les diamonds.

Yesterday, I went to the city. I watched the birds at the park and I answered questions about Melbourne. It was very fun because it was very calm and beautiful but unfortunately it was bad weather. At nine o’clock I arrived in the city and I sat with my friends. After everyone arrived we started the day. First, we visited ‘la belle miette’ and I bought two macarons for $5.80. The macarons were small but they were very delicious. They were new for me because I had never eaten a lavender macaron before. Then I finished my schoolwork. I listened to an audio about Melbourne. 

Then I went to a cafe with my friends, we ate at ‘la roule galette’. It was amazing, the galette was delicious and the flavours were perfect. I ate a pesto galette, a biscoff crepe and an apple crepe with Ashley and Coco. My favourite was the pesto galette because the lotus crepe was too sweet and the apple crepe was too rich and strong. Now I want to make a pesto galette at home. Also I talked with my mum yesterday and she wants to visit ‘la roule galette’ with me. This is very good because if I visit the cafe with her then I don’t have to spend my money. Finally I looked at the shops, they were very beautiful but the jewellery was very expensive so I only dreamed about the diamonds.
