2023 VCE Art & Design Show

We Have Not Seen An In Person Art & Design Show at MGSC Since 2019!

The annual MGSC VCE Art & Design Show is fast approaching, so save the date in your diaries. The Opening Night will be  

Wednesday 11 October, 6pm to 8pm

 in the STEAM Connect Centre

This is the annual showcase of works from Units 1 to 4 students in Art, Media and Visual Communication Design. This year there will be one Overall prize for the student in Year 12 who shows outstanding talent in the Arts. There will be prizes for each of the Unit 3 & 4 subjects. There will also be an award given to the top student of the Unit 1 & 2 subjects.

Every year we have a guest artist judge alongside our Principal, Linda Brown. This year we are lucky enough to have support from the Mentone-Mordialloc Art Group to judge alongside Eva Cumming from Barry Plant Real Estate. Eva has been a keen supporter of the MGSC awards and judge for the past six years. Barry Plant and Mentone-Mordialloc Art Group are our sponsors for 2023 and we appreciate them kindly donating monetary awards. Through their ongoing support, we celebrate and acknowledge the importance of Art and Design in education.

We would like to thank all the students for their hard work this year. Folio subjects demand a high output of constant creativity for their work. They require much dedication and self motivation.

Special thank you to the Year 12 teachers Lauren Caridi, Luigi Spoto and Charlie Ning. We also thank them for setting the expectations for VCE 2024. Thank you to all 2023 Art & Technology staff, Amy Willett, Stefanie Cappuccio, Lauren Caridi, Eva Glac, Luigi Spoto, Charlie Ning, Geoff Perks, Tess Molina, Prudence Taylor and Robyn van den Berg.

All staff, families and friends are welcome to attend. It is a wonderful night and a great way for the younger students to see what can be achieved in the Art subjects at VCE. Even if you aren’t studying Art, Media or Visual Communication Design, you can still be a part of the event. It’s a great way to celebrate the hard work the students have put in this year, so please support them! There will be light refreshments provided on the night.
