VCE Students

Bound Reference

VCE students of Mathematics 3&4 units who require reference notes bound for the upcoming VCE exams are welcome to visit the library and ask library staff to bind their items.

Vanuatu Book Donation

Last year, the library donated old textbooks and novels to a volunteer community group in Vanuatu who held a book sale and market stall.  Sam’s Animal Welfare Association is a community based organization dedicated to pet education and the welfare of animals in Vanuatu.   A big thank you to staff member Fiona Faulkes who delivered the books to a local volunteer who then got the books onto a flight to Vanuatu. A team effort indeed!

Post it Wall Mural

Our Post-it Wall Mural is now completed and looking resplendent and even a little bit magnificent.  A big thank you to all students who took part in the construction of this mural which has transformed the library foyer into an inviting space – Alice Wingate, Harper Morrissey, Jasmine Allen, Kate Badgery, Scarlett Wells, Laura Lu and Mona Walker.

Book Club

Our final meeting for Term 3 was held last Thursday with students enthusiastic to share their thoughts about the two nominated titles Five Survive by Holly Jackson and Solitaire by Alice Oseman.  The consensus was that both titles, a romance novel and a mystery novel are highly relatable student reading due to their engaging writing styles and topical themes.

Term 4 meetings will be held on Thursday 12 October – a holiday reading catch-up and Thursday 30th November – to discuss the book club titles chosen.  The new titles, chosen by students are a mystery novel Retro by Sofía Lapuente and Jarrod Shusterman and Sorcery of Thorns a fantasy novel by Margaret Rogerson.

Students are welcome to drop by the library or email library@mgsc.vic.edu.au to add their name to the Book Club mailing list.
