Class Placements for 2024

As you can imagine, determining classes is a lengthy and complex process. We try our absolute hardest to ensure the best possible placements are made to support each student's needs. Therefore, we will soon begin the process of forming our classes for 2024.

Factors that we take into consideration when making class placements may include: academic achievement, interpersonal development, learning needs, friendships and the ratio of each year level within composite classes. With so many factors to consider, and preferences to weigh up, it is important to know that it is not always possible to accommodate every request. 

As part of this process each student will be asked to nominate five friends who they work well with and would like to be in a class with next year. Please note that this is not a prioritised list with a ranked order. Each child is guaranteed at least oneof these friends be in their homegroup class in 2024. 

As class placements are confirmed later in the year and you see class lists, it's important to note that if your child's friends are not in the same homeroom, it doesn't mean that they won't have the chance to collaborate and work with these children. The collaborative approach of team teaching and flexible group arrangements means that your child may interact and learn with a broader range of children and friends beyond their immediate homeroom.

If you have a request for your child NOT to be placed with a particular child, the reason for this request needs to be made in writing.

So that we are able to have 2024 classes determined in a timely manner these will need to be sent in no later than 4pm on Monday the 30th of October in order to be considered.

If you have submitted a request in previous years that you would again like considered again, please ensure that this is submitted again.

Please ensure that any requests made by parents and carers are in line with our "Class Placements Policy" (see below). 

Please note that we do not take requests for specific teacher into consideration.
