Student of the term

Yr 7

Monika Tudorovic 7 Green

Monika has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, unwavering enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to academic excellence. Monika's passion for school shines brightly, and her peers and teachers alike have been consistently impressed by her outstanding work ethic, always doing her work to the very best of her ability. She also goes the extra mile. In Humanities she has reached out to her local member of Parliament raising and discussing with them issues of liveability in her local area. Demonstrating not only her academic curiosity but also her leadership.

This student embodies the qualities we seek in our Mercy values: not only do they excel academically, but they also exhibit remarkable character, kindness, and a strong sense of responsibility to their school community. Monika is quick to help others in need with school work, offering assistance in a quiet and supportive manner. Monika is always respectful to her peers and teachers alike, ready with a smile and good morning. Monika exhibits excellent manners and has made an impact since arriving at the Academy.

Monika has also engaged in extracurricular activities getting involved in Mercy Day and rocking out in those dances as well as attending book club each week.

Yr 8

Eloise Pola 8 Red

Eloise has had not just an outstanding term, but has performed well above expectations for the entirety of the year.  A proud Academy girl, her aunts attended the College in the 90s, Eloise certainly exhibits the values underpinning an Academy education.  As part of the leadership team she has shown compassion to class mates who have been struggling either academically or socially by welcoming them into her circle and being genuinely interested in their plight. She has been courageous in her pursuit of social cohesion within the year group and in her ability to organize assemblies and other public functions.

Her gifts of hospitality were certainly on display when she took on a leadership role on Grandparents Day, welcoming confused and hesitant grandparents and easing their way through the College.  Her work for justice has been in evidence from day one where she has not been afraid to put her hand up and speak out against injustice she has perceived in the classroom and in the wider world.  The respectful manner with which she treats both staff and students has set a wonderful example to her peers and she is only too willing to be of service to her class and to the wider College community.  When faced with the difficult challenges of running events, she has consistently put her hand up to be of assistance and guidance through her leadership.

Eloise's contribution to the College in the field of sports has been remarkable.  She has represented the College in volleyball, netball, softball and badminton, all with a fierce Academy inspired determination and competitiveness but always within the spirit of such sports and always with a compassionate edge to her fellow competitors.  Eloise has helped out at Homework Club while studying diligently for her own academic ends and has been a vocal member of the Book Club.
