PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Lindy Burke

As always, it’s been a super busy end to the year – and yet, it has been wonderful finding the time to sit down with some of our big PAL ticket recipients this week for a well-earned afternoon tea. Congratulations to this great group of kids, I feel honoured to have spent this time with you all!

All information should have been received via the SENTRAL parent portal. Parents please make sure payments have been made prior to the day – we don’t want anyone missing out. Students are expected to be in full school uniform unless specified otherwise, this also includes a broad-rimmed hat. Of course, all students attending these celebrations are expected to display our school PAL values at all times. I wish them a well-deserved celebration for all their hard work during the school year!

STATE-WIDE TRANSITION DAY

Tuesday is State-wide Transition Day where our 2024 preps have their final transition session for the year, followed by our parent Prep Information session that evening. This session commences at 6pm in the Arts Centre and here we will provide our prep parents with all they need to know in preparation for the 2024 school year.

Of course, our Grade 6 students who are attending the College next year, will also step up and experience life as a Year 7 student. Many of these students have already spent some time at the college throughout the year and know what to expect. It is great that they are looking forward to the next chapter of their educational journey. We wish them well.

GRADE 6 GRADUATION

Thursday night, we will formally have the opportunity to celebrate with our Grade 6 students at their graduation ceremony. It is always a lovely (yet emotional) evening and one that celebrates the accomplishments of the students, creates lasting memories and sends our ‘big kids’ off to the next phase of schooling. Seriously, where have those last 7 years gone?

FINAL ASSEMBLY

Friday the 15th of December will be our Final Assembly for the year. The well sought after Kiwanis Terrific Kid Awards will be presented on the day, as well as the last of our regular weekly awards. Our 2024 School Captains will get the opportunity to run this assembly, as the grade 6 students will leave our assembly early in order to head off for their final end of year celebration.

LAST DAY

Following tradition, the last day of school – Wednesday the 20th of December will be a Casual Dress Day with a Christmas theme. There is no gold coin donation required for this day and a friendly reminder that is will be an early dismissal, of 1:25pm.

The year sure is slipping away very quickly with Santa just around the corner! So kids, keep being the best version of yourselves… you most certainly do not want to end up on that ‘Naughty list’ this late in the year!

Have a great weekend Easties!
