This Week's Updates

Dear Families,

Yesterday was a lovely celebration of our St James school community as part of our St John's parish. There were well over 30 current preps in attendance to welcome over 30 of our new preps to our parish. Our 2024 Prep teachers; Amy Darvell (Prep D) and Deborah Butler ( Prep B Mon - Thurs)/Bernadette Broderick (Prep B Fri) were also in attendance. Our current preps presented our new preps with a copy of our St James school prayer.

In his homily, Fr Dispin made special mention of being proactive and preparing for the coming of Jesus, rather than sitting back and just waiting for him. Apart from physical deeds we have done and can do, the very generous donations to our food hampers and gift cards from our St James community has been very much appreciated. Last Friday we raised $441 to put towards purchasing gift cards to give to St Vincent de Paul who will distribute them to families in need.

We said farewell to Molly Masters on Friday afternoon as she commences her maternity leave. We wish Molly and Rhett all the best on the upcoming birth of their second child.

We also had a celebration for Josh Crowe and his wife because Laura who was due to give birth mid-January. Over the weekend Josh's lovely daughter arrived a little early both Laura and baby Grace are doing well.

School Advisory Council 2023 - 2024

Our 2023 SAC members represented our St James community by providing feedback and advise on a number of school related issues such as; our building program, Time in Lieu hours for staff resulting from the new union award, school fees and working bees.

With a few members moving on after their three years on the SAC, we are calling for new members from our school community to join.

We usually meet 6 - 8 times a year 6.15 - 8.00pm. If you are interested please email me
