Upcoming Events – Action needed

A list of things we need parents and carers to do to ensure their student can attend events, camps or excursions

Semester Two Reporting

End of Semester Reports are currently being finalised by teachers.  Reports will be available to parents on 11th December on Compass.    If you have lost or forgotten your login details please contact the school for assistance.

The end of Semester Report provides a point-in-time assessment of student academic achievement at the end of each Semester .  This Semester we will be including teacher comments on the report.

The end of year report provides a summary of your child’s academic achievement in particular subject areas against the expectations outlined in the Victorian Curriculum. The Victorian Curriculum F–10 sets out what every student should learn during their first eleven years of schooling. The curriculum is the common set of knowledge and skills required by students for life-long learning, social development and active and informed citizenship.

As well as viewing your child’s end of semester Reports you will also find:

Progress Reports- Grade Point Averages (GPA’s) (monthly)Progress Reports or GPA’s are used to report your child’s learning behaviours in relation to our school values.

Chronicle  (live and ongoing)The Chronicle provides a live record of the incidental notes and observations made by teachers in relation to your child.  The Chronicle may include observations of attitude and behaviour, attendance, uniform, wellbeing concerns as well as celebrations of your child’s success.  The Chronicle contains the reflections of teachers and other professionals working with your child. Access to the Chronicle provides parents and guardians with a window into the classroom to assist in identifying any early  patterns of behaviour or performance.

Attendance  (daily)  Student Attendance is reported daily.  Trafalgar Primary School has been contacting parents the same day that a student has been recorded as absent.  Using Compass parents and guardians can access attendance records and provide notes explaining absences. This service replaces the attendance data that was previously provided with school reports at the end of each semester. For assistance accessing the Compass parent portal or to obtain a hard copy of your child’s end of Semester Report, contact can be made by phone on (03) 5633 1566 or email through the schools ‘contact us’ link on our web-site www.trafps.vic.edu.au

State Transition Day

On Tuesday 12th December students will spend part of the day with their 2023 class and teacher.

Your child will come home with a slip of paper that includes the name of their 2024 classroom teacher, the room they will be in as well as two friends that share their class.

Final Assembly and Grade Six Farewell

On Friday 8th we met together as a whole school for our final farewell to our graduating

Grade 6 students.  After this assembly students formed a guard of honour through which our Grade 6's ran as they headed out our gates for the last time.

At this assembly we also celebrated the significant achievement of a number of our students.  We recognised our highest academic achievers- the students who received the highest marks on their reports which are now released to families and available on Compass.   We also recognised our GPA 'Perfect 4' students.   These are the students that have consistently display our school values: Be Safe , Be Respectful Be Learner.  Finally we announced the names of next year's student leaders. Congratulations to all our new leaders and award recipients.
