Aoife's Message

Hello Holy Cross families,

With just three weeks left of the school year it seems incredible to think that we will soon be gathering with our respective families and friends to celebrate the Christmas season. We are busier than ever in the final weeks of the year, with learning continuing in each and every space, despite the building works taking place. We will soon have three classrooms complete and we will then move to the next three rooms. I will write to each relevant class as the works progress.

Today I had the absolute pleasure of spending some time with our Year 5 children as they took part in a Leadership Day in preparation for 2024. Aside from some wonderful guest speakers the most precious part of the day was watching the children reading letters from some very special people in their lives. The children were so touched by the letters, tissues were handed round and hugs were had as the children reflected on the love and pride that people hold for them.

Margaret Clifford will retire from a long career in education at the end of this year. Marg has been working with small groups of children throughout the year and we thank her for her expertise. Cathy Turner will continue to be part of the team, through casual relief teaching.

Thank you 4B for hosting our Advent prayer gathering this afternoon. You all read beautifully and it was a delight to hear you sing with such joy and emotion.

Two of our children put up our Christmas tree today. They worked as a team to make sure all of the branches were safely put together. Afterwards they had the fun of decorating it. We wouldn't change a thing, thank you Phoebe and Stephanie!

Have a relaxing weekend,

Aoife
