HAPPENINGS

Project 3 Wrap Up

Our third and last STEM project wrapped up in week 6 with students saying goodbye to the last assessment tasks of the year and participating in some fun, hands on challenges. After researching forces and angles each hub designed their own rollercoasters and were given the opportunity to make their own model coasters!

On the QUEST side, students wrote courageous Battle Cry speeches set in the times of Ancient Greece.

Hub Cup

For our final Legacy, Year 7 partook in the annual Hub Cup, a thrilling day of competitive comradery. Throughout the term, Silver Hub saw themselves scoot to the top of the leader board, the class topping every in-class competition and setting a high benchmark for the day. We kicked off with literacy and numeracy challenges, where our L&N superstar representatives used wit and strategy to earn the first round of points. Gold and Blue Hub came through, the leader board shifting with every challenge. Midway through the day, the sport champions blitzed the relays and tug-o-war despite the sprinkling of rain. We finished with the final minute to win it challenges, awarding the last batch of points before the end of the day, but in the end, Silver Hub’s incredible commitment to victory saw them take home the cup for the first time in Hub Cup history.

Transition Days

The end of the year marks the final few weeks of Year 7’s first year at high school, but while our Hub teachers farewell their classes, it is not the end of Hubs. To prepare students for Year 8, they have been participating in transition days, spending activity filled days with the Lifestyle, QUEST and STEM teachers that will be taking over next year. We are very excited to see this wonderful group of students move onto bigger projects, new classrooms and see them grow in the year to come!

Revolution Excursions

Year 7 bounced, climbed and jumped their way through Revolution sports park for their end of year Wellbeing excursion. All students had a great time on the trampolines, ninja warrior course and inflatables, with many students even making it up the infamous warped walls. It was an amazing way to end the year, and we thank all students who attended for their awesome behaviour.
