Literacy News
Thank you
Thank you families for your support donating preloved books for our Great St Cecilia’s Book Swap which is on this Friday. The response has been terrific!
Please remember to bring a gold coin or coins to school on Friday so your child can choose a book to take home.
All money raised will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, who give new books to remote communities and they also have indigenous community publishing projects where they write and publish books in their own languages.
Book Week Parade
The Annual St Cecilia’s BOOK WEEK Parade is back!
Friday August 25th, in the Hall, from 9.00am-10.00am.
Parents are welcome to come along.
On this day, students may come to school dressed as their favourite book character, using things you already have at home.
Students may also like to bring the book their character is from to school, too.
Author Visit: Tim Harris

He spoke about his early career as a teacher, and how he now splits his time between presenting author talks to schools, and writing children's novels. He also explained how he uses his memories and experiences as starting points for his stories, and read aloud from some of his books.
His visit was entertaining and informative, and we hope it has inspired the next generation of authors. For those interested in reading one of Tim’s books, his series collections are
