Australia vs France

Women's World Cup
Last Saturday, the Parents’ Committee organised the viewing of the Women’s World Cup quarter-final match between Australia and France. It was a fantastic evening!!
There were 300 students and family members. Some supported The Matildas, some supported Les Bleues and some were really torn between the two! But everyone had a wonderful time as the players offered a captivating and historical game with extra-time and penalty shoot-outs! The room was filled with screams, comradeship and fun!
Congratulations to the Matildas who won after a long and suspenseful game!
A million thanks for the volunteers who organised this fabulous event for our school : it brought the community together and it was a successful fundraising to the profit of our school !

The Women’s World Cup
Last Saturday, on August 12th, there was the quarter final game of the 2024 Football Women’s World Cup, The Matildas played against Les Bleues, which was very special for our school that has both Australian and French students. The school hosted a viewing of the match in the SLC and approximately 300 people came. It was an amazing atmosphere, adults and kids were screaming, jumping and could not stand still especially towards the end of the game as the score was still 0-0! We could feel the anxiety in the room during the additional time and penalties! It was the longest penalty shoot-out in World Cup history with a total of 13 penalties! After a long and intense match, the Matildas won… but sadly they lost the semi final against England on Wednesday evening. Both France and Australia played very well during the competition. We cannot wait to see them again at the next World Cup in 2027!
