Dear Families

House Regatta and Presentation Dinner

As we approach the exciting events of the House Regatta and the upcoming Rowing Presentation Night, we want to provide you with some important details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.

 

House Regatta

  • Date: Saturday, 9 September
  • Arrival time: Please arrive at 7:30am sharp, as the first race is scheduled to start at 8:30am.
  • Attire: Rowers, please remember to wear your house shirts, and don't forget your water bottles and weather-appropriate gear.
  • Efficiency matters: To maximise participation, we aim to give everyone two races. To achieve this, we kindly request that all crews proceed promptly to the start line, return immediately after the conclusion of your race, and facilitate efficient changeovers where required.
  • Leadership roles: We expect everyone to show leadership throughout the day, but the most senior rowers in each house will act as captains. Your guidance and support will be instrumental in making the House Regatta successful.
  • Year 8 Presentation: A short presentation for the Year 8 rowers will start at 11:00am.

Rowing Presentation Night

  • Date: Saturday, 9 September
  • Arrival time: Rowers, please arrive no later than 6:10pm and gather in the grassed area outside TMEC (or the undercover area of the gym if it is raining).
  • Uniform check: It is crucial that you get marked off by your coaches and ensure you are wearing your full winter uniform upon arrival.
  • Seating arrangements: After attendance has been completed, all rowers will enter the TMEC in two lines and will be seated at your tables in the centre of the room.

We eagerly look forward to these two important events, celebrating our rowers' achievements and fostering the spirit of unity within our rowing community. Your cooperation and punctuality are greatly appreciated and will contribute to the overall success of the House Regatta and the Rowing Presentation Night.

Hollywood Bingo Fundraiser

John XXIII Rowing Club are organising a major fundraising event to raise funds for new equipment. The Hollywood Bingo night will be held in the Thomas More Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 4 November.
