6 TG

With camp fast approaching, we have been preparing students for their Sovereign Hill visit. They have been placed in "gold rush groups" and have had opportunities to dig for gold, earn pounds, and next week they will be given opportunities to buy rewards.

Over the past few weeks, the students have experienced some of the challenges that miners would have faced and learnt about what life was like on the goldfields for women and children. They have had lots of fun staking a claim, digging up gold nuggets, and panning for gold specks.

Next Wednesday, the grade 6's will be playing a game of 'Are You Smarter Than a Sixth Grader?'  against some of the teachers at assembly where they will showcasing their knowledge of the gold rush. If you are available, we would love to see you there!! Assembly will start at 2:30.

Camp Reminders:

A letter was sent home this week that included a list of what to pack. Please pay special attention to the items required for the costume school.

Each child should have 2 pairs of long white or black socks with no logo and black leather type shoes.

Students need to arrive to school by 8:10 on Monday the 4th of September and we will be sending a message to all families half an hour before we return on Wednesday the 6th but are anticipating to be back at around 4:15.
