Around The College
Year 9 City Experience
From Monday 28th August to Thursday 31st August, all year 9 students were involved in the annual City Experience program. The program aims to build students sense of social and personal responsibility, respect, and a general knowledge and appreciation of Melbourne.
Students spent four days in the city, exploring iconic Melbourne locations such as the MCG, the Aquarium, the Old Melbourne Gaol, the Shrine of Remembrance, and the Eureka Skydeck. They were also tasked with an inquiry project, in which students had to come up with a question about Melbourne they wanted to explore and answer throughout the week. The week ended with all students involved in an Amazing Race, in which they had to find their way around the city to certain locations, and solve riddles and complete challenges in the quickest time possible.
I would personally like to thank all the staff who attended the week, either on a supervising or organising roll – the week could not happen without your support.
