SPELLING BEE – Friday 18th August

Following on from our Book Week Parade we had our annual ‘SPELLING BEE’ competition, where 4 nominated students from each year level compete for the privilege of being ‘SPELLING BEE CHAMPION’ for their level. 

CONGRATULATIONS to all our nominees for their enthusiastic participation. Being a ‘knock-out’ competition tested each student’s ability to demonstrate persistence and resilience. We are so proud of you all! Every competing student dealt with any disappointment appropriately, being good sports throughout.

We finished with the GRAND FINAL, which involved all our 7 year level winners competing for the overall Albany Rise Spelling Bee Champion of 2023. It was a fantastic competition, with some really tricky words accurately spelt. After many rounds, the final overall winner was ABDULLAH from Year 4. Abdullah will have his name engraved onto our inaugural trophy for the second year running! 

                              Congratulations to all our finalists and well done, Abdullah.
