Book Performances

In celebration of Book Week, Meerkat productions will be visiting our school on Thursday 21st September 2023 for a performance of two books shortlisted by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) for the Book of the Year Awards. Each performance will be a 40-minute musical production including songs and puppetry, as well as question and answer time at the end of the performance. During this time, Meerkat Productions will discuss the themes raised in the show and support Inquiry Learning by discussing how they made the set, puppets, music etc.
* Students from Kindergarten to Year 3 will watch a performance based on the book Frank’s Red Hat.
It is a story about never giving up on your talents, because even though what you do may not be appreciated right now, it may be in time. Possibly by someone you’d least expect.
* Students from Year 4 and Stage 3 will watch a performance based on the book The Way of Dog.
It is a story about a young pup who is left rejected and unloved at a puppy farm until a quiet, lonely boy helps him escape. Still learning The Way of Dog, Scruffity forms an unbreakable bond with his Manpup as together they search for safety and a place to call home.
We are all looking forward to Meerkat productions performing for us at the end of the term.
