Wilderness Education Year 10 Snowshoe Expedition

Year 10 Wilderness Education students recently embarked on an unforgettable journey to Kosciuszko National Park. Over the course of five days, we explored the Snowy Mountains, hiking and camping within Australia's beautiful Alpine region.

Throughout this five-day expedition, we had perfect weather, providing us with spectacular panoramic views, incredible sunsets and sunrises. The mountain hikes, although at times challenging, gave us invaluable lessons about the local environment and essential survival skills.

The trip had several standout moments that will remain etched in our memories. Scaling the heights of Mt. Tate gave us access to the stunning views of the Main Range, a truly breath-taking sight. Additionally, sliding, not so gracefully, down slopes created some comical and enjoyable moments for all.

The expedition has been my favourite Wilderness Education experience so far.  I feel that I have gained the most knowledge from this trip regarding survival and teamwork skills.  I look forward to my next snowshoe expedition and thank our teachers and guides for creating and enabling these brilliant experiences.
