Fathers' Day Wrap

Thank you to our volunteers who assisted at the Fathers' Day Breakfast and stall last Friday.  While a little chilly early, the sun broke through just after 8:00 am so that everyone could enjoy their brekky in the sun.

It was great to see all our dads proudly wearing their football team's colours with their children and I might be a little biased but the 'black and white army' really stood out to me.

After breakfast, our savvy shoppers got to work at our Fathers' Day Stall. I hope that our dads and grandads woke up to some special surprises on Sunday!

MACSIS 2023: Family School Improvement Survey

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS): Monday 28 August – Friday 15 September 2023

Last week all families received an invitation to complete the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Survey (MACSSIS).

This is an annual process whereby we listen to the thoughts and feelings our students, families and staff have about how our school can improve.

One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school. Our school believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school.

You should have received a link and PIN to the Family Survey which is available online.

Thank you to the 16 families who have already responded. However, we need many more families to respond so that we obtain the thoughts and feelings across the community.

Surveys can be accessed until Friday 15 September 2023.

Divisional Athletics

Congratulations to all our children who competed in the Maribyrnong Division Athletics carnival this week.

And an extra special acknowledgement to Christina Tang who came 1st in the 11-year-old girls 100m sprint and now qualifies for the Regional Finals. We are very proud of her achievement.

School Disco

I hope you have all marked in your diaries the date of this year’s School Disco on Friday 13th October from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. (second Friday of Term 4). This is the social event of the year for our children and should prove a huge hit!

THIS WILL BE A MOBILE PHONE-FREE EVENT.

Mobile phones will not be permitted to be brought into the hall.

An Operoo Form requesting volunteers will be sent out shortly and we will contact those we require on the night. If you miss out this time, never fear... there will be plenty more opportunities for you in the future.

Our parent volunteers will be assigned to the various supervision tasks throughout the evening so we ask parents to just drop their children off at 6:30 pm and return to collect them at 8:00 pm sharp.

Our Disco is open only to children in Years Prep-6 and the cost is $10.00 per child ($15 per family), payable at the door on the night. Once inside, children will not be permitted to leave the hall until the conclusion when they are collected by their parents.

Our always popular Candy Corner will operate, where children can purchase goodies such as drinks and snacks as well as glow sticks!

Our School Disco is always a popular event on the calendar and this year will be no exception!

Thank you to all families who are up to date with fee and levy payments for 2023. A reminder that (unless you are  on a payment plan) fees and levies for the 2023 school year need to be finalised by Friday 15th September.

Summer Uniform and Hats

Next term children will transition into their summer uniform by the end of Week Two. However, as per our SunSmart Policy, the children will need to be wearing their school hats during recess, lunch and PE lessons from the first day of Term 4. Children who do not have a hat will need to play under the shaded areas of the school.

God bless
