Music

What an extraordinary term it's been in the world of music here at Rangeview! Our students have truly shone in both the Music Classroom and on stage, and we couldn't be prouder of their incredible accomplishments. Let's have a quick rundown of some of the fantastic music happenings that have taken place recently.

"What A Knight" Production

Our Level 5/6 students wowed the audience a few weeks back with their fantastic production of 'What A Knight' at Crossway Theatre in Burwood East. These performances were nothing short of spectacular and a testament to their months of hard work. It's safe to say we were all beaming with pride as we watched them shine on those two magical (k)nights! The buzz about our students' talent and professionalism is still in the air, and it was heartwarming to see so many families from our school community there to support them.

Annual Book Parade

The same week, Rangeview hosted its annual book parade, and it was a day to remember. The Junior Choir, Senior Choir, Band, and Rock Band put on mesmerizing performances that left the entire school in awe.

Orchestra Workshop

On Tuesday, September 5th, we had a blast hosting a combined orchestra workshop with Vermont Primary School. Our Band and String Orchestra got the chance to dive into a variety of musical activities offered by the Australian School of Performing Arts. The day continued with a combined rehearsal with students from both schools and a show-stopping concert featuring combined bands, string orchestras, and some jaw-dropping solo acts. We must give a special shout-out to our incredibly talented music captains, Ian and Justin, for their awe-inspiring piano solos.

Salvation Army Performance

Following the workshop, our combined String Orchestras are gearing up for a special performance at the Box Hill Salvation Army on Friday, September 8th. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents to the wider community.

Assembly Performance by 2L

Let's not forget to give a standing ovation to 2L for their sensational assembly performance on Monday. They've been diving into the world of marimba all term and put in some serious effort to rehearse and put on a wonderful performance.

Classroom Music Achievements

Apart from our incredible performances, our students have been hard at work in the music classroom. Our Foundation students have been exploring the depths of pitch and form, Level 1 and 2 students have been enchanting us with their marimba skills, Level 3 and 4 students have been impressing with duets on the recorder, and Level 5 and 6 students have been creating captivating soundtracks to complement their self-made comics.

With the term coming to a close, we wish everyone a well-deserved break after a whirlwind of musical adventures.
