Hollows House News - End of Term 3
Dear Hollows House students, parents, and guardians,
As we bid farewell to another exciting term at Hampton Park Secondary College, it's time to reflect on all the incredible events and achievements that have made Term 3 truly special. Hollows House has been buzzing with activity, and we couldn't be prouder of our students and their accomplishments over the past 10 weeks. In this edition, we look back on all we have achieved across this term.
Course Counselling and Curriculum Day:
We kicked off the term with course counselling sessions, helping our students plan their academic journeys. Following that, we had a memorable Curriculum Day, featuring a thrilling VEX robotics competition. The creative minds of Hollows House were on full display, showcasing their innovation and teamwork.
Mentor Competition Success:
This term, our House Mentor Competition was a resounding success, with numerous engaging events. From jaw-dropping trick shots to our heartfelt Food Bank Food Drive, challenging Math competitions, and the inspiring House Poetry Competition, Hollows House showed incredible spirit and camaraderie.
Values Nominations:
It's heartwarming to see the immense number of values nominations our students have received this term. Your dedication to demonstrating our school's core values is truly commendable, and you deserve all the credit for making our house proud.
Sports Achievements:
Our students have not only excelled academically but have also represented our school with immense pride on the sporting field. We've had great success in the Rugby Shield tournament, and we couldn't be prouder of our athletes' accomplishments.
Special Days and Events:
We celebrated "Wear It Purple" day to promote inclusivity and diversity, and English/Book Week featured a range of engaging activities, along with a free dress day. Our recent observance of RUOK? Day emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and support, thanks to everyone for participating in these meaningful activities.
Senior Students' Academic update:
Our senior students have been hard at work, with Unit 3 and 4 practice exams kicking off this week. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the upcoming exams in the next term.
Educational and Cultural Experiences:
Hollows House students had the unique opportunity to visit the Holocaust Museum in Elsternwick, an eye-opening and educational experience. Hollows House was proudly represented, and we're sure that all who attended gained valuable insights from this visit. Additionally, the Year 11 and 12 Formal at Merrimu Receptions was a highlight, and everyone looked stunning in their formal attire, making it a night to remember.
As we approach the end of this term and prepare for the exciting adventures ahead in Term 4, we want to thank all the students, parents, guardians, and staff members who contributed to making this term so remarkable. Your involvement and support are invaluable in creating a vibrant and thriving Hollows House community.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates and events in the next term. We look forward to seeing our students continue to shine brightly both inside and outside the classroom.
Wishing you all a well-deserved break during the upcoming holidays!
Warm regards,
Mr Andrews
