Scholarships- WHAT ARE THEY?
Scholarships are special awards or financial assistance that can help you pay for your education. Think of them as gifts given to students who have shown academic excellence, talent, or special abilities. They come from schools, universities, organisations, or even individuals who want to support your educational goals.
You can make a scholarship application through your VTAC account but there are also many other scholarships available. Have a look on the website of your chosen institute.
SEAS
Special Entry Access Scheme is the umbrella program run by most educational institutions for applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage.
SEAS may give students:
- Extra consideration for course entry but it is not used as a replacement for course entry requirements.
- Bonus points on your ATAR
There are 4 SEAS categories:
Category 1: Personal information and location (this will automatically be ticked)
Category 2: Disadvantaged financial background
Category 3: Disability or medical condition
Category 4: Difficult circumstances
The Careers team will be able to support you with eligibility and applications for SEAS.

MEDICINE, DENTISTRY, & ORAL HEALTH
If you are in Year 11 and plan to study medicine, dentistry and/or oral health in 2025, you may need to sit the UCAT ANZ (University Clinical Aptitude Test).
You will sit the test during Year 12 and selected universities use your UCAT ANZ results as part of the selection process, in conjunction with your ATAR and Year 12 results, and in some cases an interview.
You will only have one chance to sit the UCAT ANZ in 2024. It will cost you around $325 to sit the test, or $199 concession (costs may rise in 2024), and you will be able to receive your results straight away.
Please go to www.ucat.edu.au for more information about the UCAT ANZ. UCAT Preparation Programs You have the choice to start preparing for the test early. There are several private companies that offer commercial preparation programs such as: NIE, www.nie.edu.au MedEntry, www.medentry.edu.au.
It’s important to note that private companies are not endorsed by the universities that use the UCAT. MedEntry offers free resources such as a free UCAT exam, sample questions, and free bootcamp. Check these out via www.medentry.edu.au
