End of term- Principal's Report

Dear parents, carers, students and staff,

As we arrive at the end of Term 3, I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect our achievements so far this year and share some exciting news from our school community.

 

Celebrating Academic Excellence and Outstanding Work

Recently, we acknowledged and celebrated the achievement of academic excellence of many students. It gives me immense pleasure to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work, dedication, and achievements of our students across all year levels. The commitment to learning and their pursuit of knowledge is truly commendable, and it is a testament to their hard work and the support they receive from our dedicated teaching staff and parents. Congratulations to all students for their outstanding accomplishments in Semester 1. Keep up your great effort.

Course Counselling

This term we have had a significant focus on Course Counselling which plays a vital role in shaping the educational path of our students. Thank you for your support with these vital conversations. Any changes to subject and pathways selections will require approval from parents and key staff.

Parent Opinion Survey

Thank you to all parents who took the time to provide valuable feedback through our Parent Opinion Survey. Your insights are invaluable in helping us continually improve our school and 

the learning experience for our students. We will carefully review the feedback received and are committed to implementing positive changes based on your suggestions.

Pasifika Information Evening

Our Pasifika community plays a significant role in our school's diverse and vibrant culture. Recently, we were excited to host a Pasifika Information Evening to clarify some recent changes to citizenship rules for New Zealand citizens. On this night it was an opportunity for families to come together, share their culture, strengthen the bonds within our community and to view a full-dress rehearsal for our Pasifika students in the 4 C’s

The 4 C's Performance at Bunjil Place

Our school has always embraced the arts as an essential part of a well-rounded education. I'm thrilled to share that our talented students recently performed at the 4 C's at Bunjil Place. The performance of our students showcased creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Book Week

Recently, we celebrated Book Week. Reading improves your focus, memory, empathy and communication. It assists to build knowledge as well as imagination. Students and staff were encouraged to dress up and embrace characters from a book.

Group 11 – Wheel of Fortune

Group 12 – Morning Tea and Chats

Students has a lot of fun and raised money to support State Schools Relief, a wonderful organisation supporting thousands of students attending primary and secondary schools across our state.

 

 

Senior School Formal at Merrimu Receptions

Last Friday, our senior students enjoyed their Formal.  Merrimu Receptions was the venue for this memorable evening. The students dressed to impressed and all looked fantastic. Students enjoyed a great time and made lasting memories. Thank you to Ms Caroline Grove and Ms Catherine Glenn for their organisation and leadership of this event and also to the many staff for their attendance.

RU OK Day (Week!)

I wish to acknowledge the wonderful work of our Wellbeing Team with the vast array of Wellbeing activities as part of RU Ok Day. The students had a wonderful time. Thanks to the Wellbeing team for their excellent planning and leadership.  

House Mascots

Following submissions by students, our creative director Alana has finalised our House Mascot  designs.

VCE Practise Exams

VCE Students are beginning their practice exams in preparation for the Final VCE Unit 3 and 4 exams. To all students, follow hard work and dedication, revision and preparation are the keys to success. All students are encouraged to attempt many practice exams to receive vital feedback and suggestions for improvement. Seek help, your teachers are here to assist you!

In closing, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to our dedicated students, parents, and staff for your support. Together, we continue to create an environment where excellence is celebrated, and every student can thrive.
