Principal's Report
Dear Families,
I trust that all in our community are continuing to do well.
As a school community we have much to celebrate as Term 3 ends.
- Our production “Kismet in Storyland” was an outstanding whole school celebration. I am super proud of every student, staff member and our parents/carers for all your collective support in helping us to achieve such an outstanding whole school celebratory event.
- Our year 5/6 Robotics program that Ms TJ is leading with ten of our students. Our year 5/6 students and Ms TJ attended a coding excursion where they used micro bits to create a two-player game with year 9 students.
Our year 5/6 students are working on a research project promoting art through the globe – STEAM – Science, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. Students are focussing on the Art aspect in terms of designing and creating. Students are working on creating a website to promote our primary school art. They are in the process of interviewing our Visual Arts teacher Mrs Tabone and students regarding the impact that the component of designing and creating has on student engagement. In addition, students are working on the design of Spike our robot to program him to carry out various missions.
We look forward to November 10th when the Sunbury schools will present their robotic designs and compete for the winner of collaborating to create the most innovative design. Well done to Ms TJ for her leadership and well done to our students involved.
- Congratulations to all our students who competed in all our sporting events throughout the term. Well done for your resilience and courage!
- Community/Indigenous Garden – Thank you to Ms Boyce and Mr Peter Attard and his team for bringing to life our Indigenous/Community Garden. Mr Peter Attard and Ms Boyce met with all our children yesterday and talked about all the aspects of our new Community/Indigenous Garden and highlighted our Yarning Circle area, where children, teachers and community can meet following the traditions of our indigenous community. We thank Westgate Tunnels Project for their support in establishing this fabulous space for our students and community.
- Parent Community Association – Thank you to the team who work tirelessly to bring forward our Community Events. Our Father’s Day Staff and Father’s Day Breakfast, Donuts with Dad was a huge hit.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our team at Kismet Park Primary School for continuing to support me to do my very best to serve our students and community, so that our students receive the best possible education and experiences at Kismet Park. Thank you to our parents/carers and wider community for your kindness and support throughout this past term. Your support and kindness go a long way to propel us forward in ensuring our school mission of ‘Building the foundations for success and happiness’, is at the forefront of all we do.
Warmest Regards,
