Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Families,

Father's Day Brekkie

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, and it's safe to say that we are all looking forward to a well-deserved rest at the end of next week. In the middle of all the business, there is one event that always manages to stand out and brighten our spirits - the Father's Day Brekkie. This year, it lived up to its reputation and more!

Despite some early morning clouds threatening to dampen our plans, the sun came out and not a drop of rain made an appearance. The Father's Day Brekkie brought together many members of our school community and it was heartwarming to witness such a strong sense of togetherness.

One of the highlights of the day was our Father's Day Liturgy, and it was made all the more special by the participation of our Grade 2 students. They led us with such reverence and enthusiasm, reminding us of the true meaning behind this day of honoring fathers and father figures.

Behind the scenes, there were unsung heroes who worked tirelessly to make this day possible. I extend my  gratitude to the dedicated staff members who woke up bright and early especially Rosie, Danielle and Sharon who were onsite to fire up the barbeques at 6:30 AM. Without the hard work and commitment of our staff, our brekkie would not have taken shape as it did. It is events like these that make our school community feel like an extended family, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Our Whole School Value - Respect

At our school, we emphasise that respect is a two-way street. By showing respect to others, we earn respect in return. It's a cycle that creates positivity and growth within our school and, ultimately, within society as a whole.

This week, and next, we are having a whole school focus on the value of respect. When we respect one another, we create an atmosphere of trust, empathy, and collaboration. This, in turn, leads to improved learning outcomes, increased well-being, and a more positive school experience for everyone.

Each class will spend a short time each day completing an activity or engaging in conversation to further develop their understanding of how we show each other and our school community respect.

Little Angler Kits

The Victorian Government is investing $1.5 million from the Recreational Fishing Licence Trust Fund to provide up to 95,000 Little Angler Kits to primary school aged children in Victoria. The free kits provide a wonderful school holiday activity for children with their families and help ease the cost of living, providing a fun activity close to home.

Grade 5 students at all Victorian schools, including ours, will be offered the opportunity to receive a FREE Little Angler Kit. Grade 5 students have been selected based on the Victorian Curriculum focus, movement and motor development, and safety considerations.

The program is entirely voluntary. Schools were provided with the option to opt out of the program. Our school has opted to stay in the program so that parents can decide whether they want their child(ren) to receive a free fishing kit. Parents of Grade 5 students can advise the school if they do not wish their child(ren) to participate for any reason whatsoever. We support parents in making decisions that align with their family values and beliefs.

School Fees

This is just a reminder that if you are not paying school fees via Centrepay or Direct Debit, the fees are due to be finalised by 30th November 2023.  School fee statements are sent home via email at the start of each term, please contact the office if you require another copy to be sent home.

If you are having difficulty paying fees, families can apply for a Special Consideration Fee Concession. Forms need to be sent home and completed, however concessions can be granted and we have helped many families over the years. Remember also that if you hold a Government Health Care Card or Government Pension Card, school fees can also be reduced. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful week!
