Careers

In Term 2, 8 of our students participated in the Secondary School Cadet Program, organised by the Rural Fire Service (RFS). The program aimed to impart practical life skills, develop qualities of leadership, teamwork, initiative, and foster a strong sense of community responsibility and service.

Each week, participants engaged in two-hour sessions that covered various aspects of the program. The initiative not only prepared cadets for potential future involvement in the RFS Cadet Brigade Program and emergency services but also nurtured personal growth and community awareness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated and passionate volunteers who made the Secondary School Cadet Program an enriching and impactful experience. Their commitment to guiding and mentoring the students throughout the 10-week period is truly commendable. Through their efforts, they have instilled essential life skills, values of leadership, teamwork, and community service in our students.

Their dedication has not only contributed to our students personal development but has also laid a foundation for their potential future roles in the RFS Cadet Brigade Program and emergency services careers.

On Wednesday we welcomed some of the RFS Volunteers, along with the Mater Dei participants to share in a morning tea as a way of showing our appreciation.

The program will run again in 2024, so keep an eye out in the Daily Notices and in your Careers Classroom for details early next year.
