Year 2/3

This week in Mathematics, our students have been learning about chance and probability. They’ve been exploring how likely or unlikely events are to happen and using everyday language such as certain, likely, unlikely, and impossible to describe outcomes.

Through hands-on activities and fun games, students have been identifying all possible outcomes from simple chance experiments like rolling dice, flipping coins, and drawing coloured counters from a bag.

We encourage you to support this learning at home by asking questions such as:

  • “What are the chances it will rain tomorrow?” (after watching the weather forecast on TV)
  • “If we flip a coin, what are the possible outcomes?”
  • “Do you think this game is fair? Why or why not?”

Thank you for your continued support. It's been fantastic to see the students so engaged and excited to apply their learning in real-world contexts!
