Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Chevalier College’s spellbinding performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!
We were delighted to be the third theatre in Australia (and the first in NSW) to bring this production to the stage.
This production was a dazzling showcase of student talent, creativity, and collaboration. Led by the visionary direction of Mr Joshua Combes, the show brought together a remarkable ensemble of performers and an equally impressive team working tirelessly behind the scenes.
On stage, the students delivered captivating performances that transported audiences straight into the wizarding world. Their energy, emotion, and commitment to their roles were nothing short of magical. Memorable cameos by Fr John Mulrooney, msc, as Dumbledore, and Mrs Rebecca Graham, casting wickedness, as Bellatrix Lestrange, only added to the audience's delight.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated crew ensured every moment was seamless and spectacular:
- Direction and choreography were masterfully handled by Mr Joshua Combes, Freya C (Year 12), Jessica P (Year 10), Ruya G (Year 10), and Mrs Leonie Stone.
- Set design and construction involved a creative team including Mrs Gemma Farrugia, parent volunteers Melanie Reynolds and Lauren Evans, and community partners like Fitch Fine Furniture and Bowral Signs.
- Lighting and audio-visual magic were orchestrated by Sebastian B (Year 11), Anthony W (Year 7), Emily R (Year 11), parent volunteer Loraine Mallari, William G (Year 12), and the team from Inspired Productions.
- Costume and makeup artistry came to life thanks to Mrs Samantha Combes, Mrs Alishya Worthington, Mrs Sheridan Burns-Rynne, and many talented students.
- Front of house and publicity were expertly managed by Mrs Leah Robertson, Mrs Davina Kruger, Miss Claudia Bensley, and CAPALoT students.
From the first wand flick to the final curtain call, this production was a triumph of imagination and teamwork. Thank you all for your dedication, artistry, and the unforgettable magic you created. Bravo!
