Principal Report

It’s hard to believe we’re about to head into the last week of Term 2. It’s been a full and rewarding term, with students involved in a wide range of learning experiences both in and out of the classroom. From excursions and sporting events to a number of wellbeing initiatives and senior students completing end of semester exams, there’s been no shortage of opportunities for students to engage, connect and grow.
Semester One reports will be released on Compass next week. They’re a valuable opportunity to reflect on progress so far and consider areas to build on in Semester Two. I encourage families to take the time to read through them together and acknowledge the effort and learning that’s taken place.
I’d like to wish Eden Beaumont all the very best as he takes on the incredible challenge of walking the Kokoda Trail during the upcoming school holidays. Eden is representing our school and wider community after being one of five students from across the Murray Plains electorate awarded the prestigious Sinclair Scholarship. These scholarship offer young people an important insight into the local connection to Kokoda and the sacrifices made by men from our region during World War II. It’s a powerful way to honour the past and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today. We’re proud of Eden and look forward to hearing about his experience when he returns.
A reminder as well that the last day of Term 2, Friday 4th July, is a shorter day, finishing at 2:17pm. Bus timetables will be adjusted accordingly. The Front Office will be closed from 3pm on the last day and will remain closed over the school holidays. The college will reopen on Monday 21 July at 8.30am
Thank you to all staff, students and families for your ongoing support this term. I wish everyone a safe and restful break and look forward to seeing you all ready for Term 3.
Cheers,
Matt Koutroubas
