LivCare
Term 2 2025
In Livcare we have continued to make new connections between our 3 and 4 year old sessional groups. The children are developing different ways of listening to others’ ideas and having an understanding of respecting their peers in play. They have shown great resilience since moving back this term to Livingston Kinder and have enjoyed our new outside space.
With the days becoming colder we have been exploring seasonal changes to our trees in the garden, using our 5 senses exploring the edible veggie garden and watering/caring for our new plants.
Some of the groups have been exploring with seeded grains, salt and measuring cups pouring and tipping to fill other containers.
Different types of building materials have also been popular, constructing and applying a wide variety of thinking strategies to manipulate the objects experimenting with “cause and effect”.
Others have enjoyed the loose parts play exchanging ideas and engaging in enjoyable interactions.
Some of our group games include:
Relaxation is a focal point for the longer Livcare sessions, as its a chance for the children to recharge and rejuvenate their mind and bodies. The children have opportunities to listen to stories/music from different genres and cultures, read their own book or do drawing whilst listening to music.
On our shorter Livcare sessions following a longer kinder session the children participate in small group activities that are usually quieter.
The children have built secure attachments with all of the Livcare Educators which helps with a smooth transition into Livcare.
Cheers,
Livcare Team.
