The Year 3 children enjoyed a wonderful Retreat last week at James Sheahan. This Retreat was facilitated by Year 10 Students and The James Sheahan Youth Minister, Sam Baker. The Retreat was titled "A Place at The Table" and our Year 3 students learnt all about the Sacrament of Holy Communion, aswell as the parts of the Mass. This Retreat was combined with the Year 3 students from St. Mary's School. Our Year 3 students and teachers loved the opportunity to meet and socialise with the James Sheahan and St. Mary's students. It was a very valuable day which everyone will remember!
We congratulate all children who made their First Holy Communion last weekend and wish all those who will be making this Sacrament over the next two weekends the best of luck.
A spiritual retreat session has been planned for Kindergarten on Friday 20th June at school. On this day the students will pray, reflect and talk about their relationship with God and Jesus.
The theme for the Retreat is “Apple of My Eye.” The students will learn that this means they are precious and treasured by their own family as well as God. This supports the work the Kindergarten students are doing in class during their Religion lessons where they are learning about God's Great Family.
“Keep me as the apple of your eye.” Psalm 17:8
As part of this day, our Aboriginal Education Officer will facilitate a session on belonging from an Indigenous Perspective. The Missionaries of Charity will also facilitate a session on belonging to God’s family. The Kindergarten children and Teachers are looking forward to this fun day as part of their faith formation at our Catholic School.
As part of the Year Three Retreat Day the students learnt all about the parts of the Mass.
