Project Compassion 

This week the Project Compassion story features Manaini from Fiji.

Life was hard for Manaini and her children living in rural Fiji. With the support from Caritas Australia’s partner, FRIEND, she learnt food processing and gardening skills, improving nutrition and creating new income opportunities to support her children’s education. 

‘The project totally changed the life of my family and even the community,’ Manaini said.

Coin Line Competition and Casual Clothes Day

Monday 30th of March we are having a Casual Clothes Day to raise money for Project Compassion. We ask for a gold coin donation (or equivielant in small change) for Caritas Australia.

The casual clothes day will be accompanied with a coin line competition. The students are asked to return any project compassion money boxes donations to be included in the class coin line and to then pass these donations on to Caritas Australia.

Week of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving

This week the students are participatin in a week of activities aimed at raising awareness of the expereinces of those communities Caritas Australia supports around the world, and making connections between Project Compassion and the spiritual traditions of Lent.

Ask your students what they gave up as a class, and if they managed to complete all 40 acts of kindness. 

Sacramental Preparation Program - Confirmation and Eucharist

Preparation for receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist (Communion) will be commencing in term 2, with information sessions being this term.

Two sessions per week

• Session One – Week 2 of Term 2, Week beginning 27th April, 2026
• Session Two – Week 3 of Term 2, Week beginning 4th of May 2026
• Session Three – Week 4 of Term 2, Week beginning 11th of May 2026
• Session Four – Week 5 of Term 2, Week beginning 18th of May 2026
• Session Five –  Week 6 of Term 2, Week beginning 25th of May 2026

Sacramental Masses:

• Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of May 2025                                                
• Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of June 2025.
