Swimming Carnival Report 2026
Our annual swimming carnival, held at Penrith Ripples, was a fantastic celebration of energy, enthusiasm and community spirit. Despite the heat, students and staff embraced every moment, creating an atmosphere that was both highly competitive and wonderfully supportive.
The pool events showcased outstanding determination and sportsmanship, with students eagerly diving into competitive races across all age groups and strokes. It was inspiring to see swimmers cheering one another on as they pushed through the heat to finish strong.
Beyond the traditional races, the carnival offered an exciting range of wet and dry novelty events, ensuring that every student had the opportunity to get involved. Water relays, inflatable challenges and splash-filled team races brought laughter and house pride to the forefront, while dry activities provided fun alternatives for those who preferred to stay poolside. These inclusive events allowed students of all abilities to contribute points to their house and share in the excitement of the day.
Creative and colourful costumes, representing the Under the Sea theme, and booming chants echoed across the venue, energising competitors and spectators alike. The sense of belonging and house pride was unmistakable.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere were our enthusiastic and competitive teachers, who led by example and weren’t afraid to join in the fun. Whether racing in staff relays, judging novelty events or leading chants, their spirited participation strengthened the connection between staff and students and amplified the positive energy throughout the carnival.
Most importantly, the day was a celebration of community. Students supported one another, demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and showed resilience in the hot conditions. Our swimming carnival was not only a showcase of athletic ability, but also a reminder of the strength of our school spirit when we come together.
A very big thank you goes to Mrs Muscat, Mrs McElroy and the PDHPE staff who planned, organised and set up for the carnival. Thank you also to all of the staff and PASS students, who helped ensure everything ran smoothly. We look forward to building on this momentum at our next whole-school celebration!
