Learning Preparation
This year, the College is placing a stronger emphasis on Learning Preparation, shifting the traditional view of homework away from simply completing unfinished classwork. While completing missed or unfinished work may form part of Learning Preparation, the primary focus is on preparing students for their next learning session to ensure that they arrive at class ready to engage fully in their learning. These activities may include reviewing previous content, practising skills, reading and researching relevant information, or preparing questions in advance of a lesson.
Learning Preparation is designed to support deeper understanding and to maximise the effectiveness of classroom learning time. Students are expected to record all Learning Preparation activities for each subject in their College diary. Completion of these tasks is monitored by teachers and contributes to the Student Learning Performance (SLP) grade each term, providing constructive feedback to support the learning and growth of students of all abilities.
Parents are encouraged to discuss learning with their daughter and take an interest in the activities she is completing to prepare for each lesson, as this support plays an important role in promoting engagement and academic growth.
Driving and Parking During Drop-Off and Pick-Up
To ensure the safety of all students and the smooth flow of traffic, we ask that the bus bay remains clear during morning arrivals, homeroom, and afternoon dismissal times. This area must be accessible at all times for scheduled bus services.
When dropping students off, please use the designated Kiss and Drop zone located at the front of the school.
We understand that peak periods can be busy, and surrounding streets may become congested. During these times, we kindly ask for your patience and consideration, particularly when merging back into traffic. Please prioritise safety at all times and be mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles.
Students are reminded to use the designated pedestrian crossings when entering and exiting the College grounds.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone in our school community.
College Open Night
We are delighted to invite families to our upcoming College Open Night on Monday 2nd March from 3.30pm to 6.00pm. This special afternoon provides a wonderful opportunity for prospective students and their families to experience the vibrant learning environment, strong community spirit and wide range of opportunities available at our College.
During the Open Night, families will have the opportunity to:
- Tour our facilities and learning spaces
- Meet our dedicated teachers and current students
- Learn about our academic programs and co-curricular offerings
- Discover how we support each student’s growth, wellbeing and success
If you know any families with daughters currently in Years 5 or 6, please pass this information on to them. Open Night is the perfect opportunity for young students to begin imagining their future and feel excited about the next stage of their education. We look forward to welcoming you on Monday 2nd March and sharing what makes our College community so unique.
