School Council
Update
Welcome to our first School Council update for the year.
I’m pleased to introduce this new section of the newsletter, which will provide a regular update on the work of School Council and keep our school community informed about the decisions and discussions that support our students.
At our first meeting of the year, we welcomed both returning and new members to School Council. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to be involved.
I’d like to introduce our office bearers for the year:
The list of parent members and School Employee Members is included in the principal’s page in this week’s newsletter.
I would like to sincerely thank all members for their willingness to contribute their time, ideas, and energy to the school community.
One of the key roles of School Council is to help guide the school’s strategic priorities and oversee the responsible use of school resources. Fundraising plays an important role to provide additional resources and opportunities for our students. Thanks to the support of families last year, the school was able to invest in a number of valuable resources and improvements, including:

Fundraising is a true community effort, and we are grateful to everyone who contributes - by volunteering, donating, attending events or supporting activities. Your support makes a real difference for our students.

In 2025, our community raised an amazing $19,289.72 through fundraising efforts. This is a wonderful reflection of the generosity and spirit of our school community. In 2026, these funds will support a range of projects and initiatives, including a new sandpit, saving towards replacement playground equipment, Year 6 Graduation, items for our sustainability program, and running track improvements.

School Council also acknowledges the important role of voluntary parent payments in supporting our programs. These contributions help provide a wide range of resources across the school, including materials for Art, classroom resources such as dictionaries and calculators, PE equipment, support for our School Wide Positive Behaviour Program, Maths resources, cooking materials, educational games, laptops, photocopying, sickbay supplies and musical instruments, among other things.
We understand that families may contribute when they are able, whether in full or in part, and in ways that suit their circumstances. If you haven’t had the opportunity before, we invite you to consider doing so. These contributions allow the school to continue providing high-quality programs, materials, and resources that empower our students and help them reach their full potential.
School Council values hearing from our parent community. If you have a question, suggestion, or idea you would like considered, you are very welcome to get in touch. The best way to do this is to contact the school office or speak with one of the parent representatives, who can bring items forward for discussion.
Thank you again to everyone who contributes to making our school such a supportive and connected community. I look forward to sharing updates with you throughout the year.
Warm regards,
Kate Rogers
School Council President
