Year 11 Retreat - Peninsula

Our Year 11 students recently spent three rewarding days on retreat at Peninsula Outdoors. The retreat provided students with a valuable opportunity to step away from the routine of school life, spend time outdoors, and strengthen their connections with one another.

Throughout the retreat, students participated in a variety of outdoor and team building activities including raft building, crate stacking, archery, and orienteering. These activities encouraged students to work together, communicate, and support one another while also having plenty of fun.

A fun highlight of the retreat was the evening night walk, where students spent time walking together and enjoying the outdoors in a relaxed and enjoyable way. It was a great opportunity for students to unwind, share conversations, and experience the natural surroundings of the peninsula at night.

During the first two days, students also took part in a leadership workshop facilitated by Gill from Unleashing Personal Potential. Through engaging sessions and discussions, students explored important leadership qualities, reflected on their personal strengths, and considered how they can positively contribute to their school community.

The retreat was a wonderful opportunity for the Year 11 cohort to build stronger relationships, bond with one another, and create lasting memories together. Experiences like these help strengthen the sense of community within the year level as students continue their journey through the senior years of school.

Our Year 12 students recently spent three memorable days on retreat at Phillip Island, enjoying a wonderful opportunity to step away from the pressures of their final year and spend quality time together as a cohort.

Throughout the retreat, students participated in a range of activities that balanced fun, reflection, and connection. A highlight of the trip was visiting the Penguin Parade, where students witnessed the incredible sight of little penguins returning to shore at sunset. They also explored the beautiful Koala Conservation Reserve, walking along the treetop boardwalks and observing koalas in their natural habitat.

The retreat also included plenty of opportunities for adventure and teamwork. Students challenged themselves through activities such as rock climbing and surfing, while bowling provided plenty of laughter and friendly competition. To finish the retreat on a sweet note, the group visited the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory, where students enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits and, of course, sampling some chocolate.

Beyond the activities, the retreat provided valuable time for students to strengthen friendships, build connections with peers, and create lasting memories together. As they move through their final year of schooling, experiences like this help to foster a strong sense of community and support within the cohort.

It was a special few days that our Year 12 students will no doubt remember for years to come.
