We are pleased to announce the 2026 Student Leaders and House Captains. Mrs Flavel and Mr Venter spent considerable time reviewing the applications and interviewing our students.
Thank you to the Governing Council
We would also like to recognise and thank our wonderful Governing Council. Throughout the year, we have appreciated the partnership and support of this passionate and proactive group of parent representatives. Their guidance and involvement have been instrumental in shaping our vision and direction for Modbury School P-6, and we look forward to continuing this journey with them in 2026. A big thank you to Jess Crook for all her dedication, energy and years of service to our school.
We are pleased to share with you a reflection from our Governing Council Chairperson, Ben Kempster, who has taken the opportunity to look back on the achievements and highlights of 2025 at Modbury School P-6. His insights capture the collaborative spirit and dedication of our school community throughout the year.
Congratulations to all our Modbury P-6 students for a brilliant year, what a year it's been with so many amazing things happening at the school. From the freshly updated OSU and library, to the beautiful artworks, new basketball rings and updated technology to improve teachers and students' daily learning experiences.
On behalf of the Governing Council, I want to say a huge thank you to Sara, the leadership team and all the staff at the school for their tireless efforts and support. The students have noticeably grown in their confidence and enthusiasm, this was so evident at the school concert which was an absolute joy to watch.
Modbury School is a special place and is getting better by the day. Thanks to all the outgoing Governing Council members, and a special thank you to Jess Crook for her years of service on the committee, we wish Jess all the best. We are proud to serve on Governing Council and look forward to an exciting 2026 - but first, have a great break over the holidays, it's well deserved!
End of Year Reports
Yesterday, you will have received via the Parent Portal your child's end-of-year report, which provides a summary of the academic progress, achievements, and areas for improvement throughout the school year. The report provides an account of your child's learning journey, highlighting their strengths and identifying areas where they may need additional support. The report celebrates your child's accomplishments and efforts, acknowledging their hard work and dedication throughout the year. By reviewing the report, you and your child can set realistic and achievable goals for the upcoming year. This helps in maintaining a continuous and focused approach to learning. The information provided in the reports assists teachers in planning for the next academic year, ensuring that each student receives the support and challenges they need to succeed.
School Safety over the Holidays
It is important to keep safe over the upcoming holidays. If you see anything suspicious or inappropriate behaviour on our school grounds, please contact SAPOL on 131 444.
