Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our Year 6 children on their participation in the Year 6 Interschool Sports Day last Friday. All of our children had a wonderful day. Thank you to the staff who supported our children – Ms Lloyd, Miss Barber, Mrs Burns, and Mrs Culham. A special thank you to Mrs Guihot and Ms Emma White who ran the hockey activities on behalf of our school. Well done, everyone.
Thank you to everyone that came along to the Disco on Friday night. It was a terrific evening. Thank you to Mrs McClements and Mrs Weekes for their organisation of the disco. Thank you to DJ Datt for bringing the disco to life. Thank you to the teachers who volunteered to supervise, and to our School Spec parents for their work on the BBQ and food stall on the night. The kids had a really fun time. We raised $1674.80 that will go towards supporting our School Spectacular children. Thank you, everyone.
Tomorrow, Friday 7th November, is School Counsellor and School Psychologist Recognition Day. This years theme is: Together We Grow. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Anthea Bourne, Ms Emily Austin, Ms Gai Torshavn and Mrs Julie Hanman for all the incredible work they continue to do with all staff, children and parents to improve wellbeing and learning outcomes. Thank you.

We look forward to a great day on Friday.
We’re thrilled to share an exciting update on our upcoming Canteen Artwork Project! Bathurst Public School has partnered with talented local artist Calum to transform the canteen area into a vibrant and inspiring space that reflects the heart of our school community.
Calum, whose work can be seen in several stunning local installations (see examples below), will begin creating the mural in late December. His design will celebrate the creativity, diversity, and spirit of Bathurst Public School — a lasting legacy for our students, families, and staff to enjoy for years to come.
The project is a joint initiative between the P&C and the school, who have together committed the majority of the funding required. To bring this vision fully to life, we’re now inviting our school community to help raise the final $10,000 needed to complete the project. Every contribution, big or small, helps us achieve this incredible goal.
If you’d like to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to leave your mark on our school, donations can be made via:
PC General Account
BSB: 082441
ACC: 425386324
(Please include your name so it can be added to the artwork’s donor list.)
We can’t wait to see Calum’s creativity in action and share the finished masterpiece with our whole school community early next year!
The staff are commencing conversations about class structures for 2026 and will commence working on staffing and designing classes throughout the later part of the school term. Many hours of work go into creating structures, staffing and designing every class. The school recognises the importance of fostering and maintaining friendship groups. We also understand that it is equally important for students to mix and learn with peers with different interests. Some details to assist parents with the process we are going through and how they can be involved in preparation for 2026 are outlined below;
- Children are asked by their teacher around week 4/5 to nominate 3 children they would like to be in a class with; a minimum of 1 of the nominations is to be a child who is currently in another class. The school endeavours to ensure each child receives at least 1 of their nominated friends.
- Parents are invited to make requests based on the academic and emotional needs of their child. Requests for class placements must be in writing, outlining who you are requesting your child to be placed with and why. Requests must be addressed to the Principal, Mrs White. All requests need to be received by Friday, 14th November 2025. As you can understand, we are not always able to accommodate class placement requests but will endeavour to take wishes into consideration where possible.
- All teachers at Bathurst Public School are caring and committed educators. Bathurst Public strives to ensure that all children are provided with a high-quality education so they can 'Believe, Belong and Succeed'. Whilst we appreciate that you may wish that your child would benefit from being placed in a class with a particular teacher, we are unable to accommodate teacher requests. Our school's Leadership Team (Principal, Deputy Principal, Assistant Principals and Learning and Support Team) have an in-depth understanding of each teacher's strengths and will always endeavour to place our students with teachers who are best placed to suit their needs.
- If you know you will be moving in 2026 and your child/children will not be attending Bathurst Public School, would you please contact the office at school and let us know by Friday 14th November 2025, please.
SCHOOL SWIMMING - PERMISSION AND PAYMENT DUE FRIDAY 7TH NOVEMBER TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE.
