From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are now officially half way through the term and well into our Assessment weeks. The student assessment allows our teachers to use this data to form their final judgement of student growth and progress for the year and prepare for the end of year reports. On Monday 24th November it will be a student free day with teachers using the day to write their reports.

Assessment weeks normally go for a two week period and it can be tiring for the students during this time, so a good bed routine is important for the best results.

Student leadership 2026- School Captain speeches

On Friday this week, our students (nineteen) in Grade 5 will complete their speeches to the students and staff. From this process the students (Gr3-6) and staff vote for four students.  It is from a combination of student and staff votes and the interview following that we will be able to select four students to be our school captains of 2026.

STUDENT CLASS PLACEMENTS 2026

This week our teachers began the process of placing students in classrooms where they feel they will work best.  There are a range of processes they consider from academic to social to balance a class.  We have received the requests from parents and this process for parents requests has now finished as teachers and leadership look to finalise classes for next year.

ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH 2025

Next week we have our Energy Breakthrough team heading off to Maryborough to compete against over 100 primary school teams . The twenty six students (3 teams) are very excited and the weather looks to be kind to us for this year.  Mr Zerafa and Mrs Jones have been busy preparing the team all year and have been assisted by Phil Mc Grath & Teilo Bentley as support.  We wish our 2025 Energy Breakthrough team all the best and hope they enjoy the experience.  A big thank you to our sponsors for the team this year who have allowed our team to get access to the best equipment.  Below is the schedule of the event for the next 3 days.
