 Creative and Performance Centre Opened

The Glen Innes High School Creative and Performance Arts Centre was officially opene on Thursday 8 August, as part of other events around Education Week.

The Glen Innes High School Parents and Citizens committee has worked with the school upgrading the Old Hall to the renovated Creative and Performance Arts Centre by supporting funding with; new curtains for the stage, lighting trusses and Baby Grand Piano.

A major part of the funding has been made possible by the contribution from the White Rock Community Fund. Thank you to Jane Alt for representing White Rock at the opening.

Dedicated Glen Innes High School Music Teacher Dylan McKean passion and dedication to the project is to be acknowledged and his role in bringing a wish to fruition.

There were other generous donations specifically towards the Baby Grand Piano: which have come from:

The Glen Innes Men's Shed- Steve Lucus, Jim Wilson, and team who also mounted the old set of piano keys where the donors are listed,

Elva Donaghue, John Crossley, The 1979 Year 10 Reunion Group – represented by Raelene Watson, Di and Denis Brown, Eastwood family and Maggie & Henry Duddy, and Natasha Ward for her professional engraving workmanship.

The upgraded space is impressive, and it is exciting to have this facility to support CAPA not only for the students at Glen Innes High School but for the Wider Community.
