Principals Report

Welcome to another edition of our newsletter! It’s been a whirlwind of activity these past two weeks.

We recently held our 2024/2025 Student Leadership nominations, and I must say, the level of enthusiasm and quality of candidates was truly impressive. We had 11 students put themselves forward for our school leadership team this year. I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of you for your outstanding applications, interviews, speeches, and overall conduct throughout the selection process. You all demonstrated remarkable pride, collaboration, and support for one another, and I would have been thrilled to work with any of you.

To those candidates who were not selected this time, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your courage in stepping up and for the way you conducted yourselves throughout the process. Your dedication to our school and its students is truly valued, and I am excited to see you continue to contribute and represent our school in all that you do.

Thank you all for your incredible efforts, and here’s to a fantastic year ahead with our new leadership team!

We kindly ask all students to refrain from bringing aerosol deodorant cans to school. We have several staff and students with severe allergies and asthma, and the recent increase in health issues related to the use of these products has raised concerns.

To ensure the well-being of everyone in our school community, please consider using non-aerosol alternatives for personal hygiene. There are many effective options available that will help maintain your personal hygiene without causing discomfort or health issues for others.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We would also like to remind everyone that, for safety reasons, enclosed footwear is required at all times while at school, even on special event days. Crocs, thongs, and sandals are not permitted as they do not provide the necessary protection under our school’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines.

The NSW Department of Education places a strong emphasis on the safety and wellbeing of students. Enclosed shoes help to minimise the risk of accidents and injuries, especially in practical classes, outdoor activities, and general movement around the school. Without proper footwear, students are at greater risk of slips, falls, and other incidents, which is why this rule is so important.

We ask for your support in ensuring that your child wears appropriate, enclosed shoes to school every day. This simple precaution helps keep everyone safe and allows all students to participate fully in school activities without any risk to their wellbeing.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in making our school a safe environment for all.
