Wellbeing at Moriac

Overview of the Moriac Star Program

The Moriac Star Program is a positive behaviour initiative designed to encourage and reward students for demonstrating our core values: Respectful, Exceptional, and Responsible. By linking these values to positive behaviours, the program fosters a supportive and motivating environment where students are recognised for their efforts.

Each student is provided with a Moriac Star card, where they collect stamps for exhibiting behaviours aligned with the values. For every 10 stars they accumulate in a specific value category, they are rewarded with a variety of prizes. These include:

  • An entry into our assembly's Moriac Star Raffle - end of term celebration lunch
  • A small silver or gold prize to celebrate their achievements.

The program spans across all classes from Foundation to Year 6, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to participate and be acknowledged for their positive contributions to the school community. The Moriac Star Program has become a highly valued part of our school culture, with students excited to collect stars and eager to be recognized for their positive behaviour at assembly in front of their peers.

R U OK? Day

At Moriac, we proudly celebrate R U OK? Day to raise awareness about mental health and the importance of checking in on one another. On this special day, our school community comes together by wearing a touch of yellow.

Throughout the day, students participate in a variety of fun and educational activities aimed at helping them understand the significance of asking, "Are you OK?" These activities are designed to empower students to recognise the importance of open communication, empathy, and supporting their peers.

R U OK? Day at Moriac is a meaningful celebration, reinforcing the message that it’s always okay to ask for help and that we are here to support one another.
