Partnerships and Pathways

Last week, we were incredibly grateful to welcome Dr Hannah and Charlie from the RUOK? organisation, for an impactful ‘Lunch and Learn’ conversation as part of our school's week-long events for RUOK? Day. Hosted by our amazing SRC Wellbeing LeadersCharlise and Sophie, students and staff gathered to learn how to support our peers and loved ones and foster meaningful connections through open, honest conversations. RUOK? is a vital harm prevention charity that encourages us to stay connected and ask, “Are you OK?”—a simple question that can make a world of difference. Thank you, Hannah and Charlie, for an inspiring and empowering session. Let's keep building a strong, supportive community together!

As the Class of 2024 approach their very very special graduation day, we were delighted to acknowledge and congratulate over 110 of our Year 12s who received Caroline Chisholm’s first-ever Partnerships and Pathways Accreditations this morning! With Gold, Silver, and Bronze credentials, Year 12 has shown incredible dedication to their future careers. These outstanding students have taken advantage of amazing opportunities like Lunch and Learn guest speaker events, University and TAFE showcases, the invaluable ACU Step Up and WSU Fast Forward Programs as well as meeting regularly with our Pathways Coaches, Kara and Adam, to develop their post school plans. Well done ladies on the investment you’ve made in your future — we wish you all the best on the exciting path ahead! Partnerships and Pathways Accreditations will be presented to Years 7 - 11 in Term 4.

Students from Years 7-12 can keep up to date with all our careers news and resources - including Careers at Canvas, the Ponder Pathways Hub and Beyond. Our Careers Canvas website has new posts most days in the ‘Announcements’ feature at the top of the homepage. In the past fortnight alone, we’ve published news (targeted to specific year groups) about workshops, microcredentials, scholarships, open days, apprenticeships and traineeships, casual and permanent employment, as well as comprehensive weekly careers newsletters from partners Study Work Grow and Job Jump. We also post selected articles from the Study Work Grow website (no password required) with features on exploring learning options, career path spotlights and practical ways/tips for students to care for themselves. If you haven’t had the opportunity, I encourage you to ask your daughter to show you this one-stop-shop for all things careers and pathways, for Years 7-12.

To book a coaching conversation, or for any pathways enquiries, students can pop into the library or email us: amacnamara1@parra.catholic.edu.au and koliver4@parra.catholic.edu.au
