Primary Years, Tarneit
Mrs Maria Denholm
I hope that all families have had a refreshing break and are ready for the final term of 2025.
During term 4, it is important that all students wear their College hat during recess, lunch and any outside PE lessons. Students who do not have their hats will miss out on play. Please make sure that your child’s hat is clearly named so that if it becomes lost, it can easily be returned to them. You are also asked to name lunch boxes, plastic containers and drink bottles as they often go missing. Students should only be wearing College uniform items purchased from Dobsons (previously Noones).
We congratulate Mrs Mikaella Nelson on her appointment as Head of Mambourin Campus. She will begin this role in Term 4. She will no longer be teaching her Tarneit classes or managing pastoral care for the Prep – Year 3 students.
Mr Steven Tkaczuk will begin his role as Assistant Head of Upper Primary – Tarneit and take over Mrs Nelson’s classes, as well as providing pastoral care support for Years 3, 4 & 5. In 2025, he will work with the Year 5 & 6 classes.
Mrs Talita Zibell who has been working with Year 3 – 6 this year will change her role to Assistant Head of Lower Primary in 2025(Prep & Year 1) but will support the students in Prep – Year 2 during this term, along with the Year 6’s as they prepare to transition into Year 7 and Secondary school.
In 2025 we will be joined by Mrs Shameen Hussein, currently at Australian International Academy, Caroline Springs and previously at Bacchus Marsh Grammar, Woodlea Campus as the new Assistant Head of Middle Primary looking after the Year 2, 3 & 4 students.
I would also like to congratulate Ms Rene Van Zyl on her appointment as Assistant Head of Primary – Mambourin, a position she will begin in 2025.
If you have any concern with your child’s academic or pastoral care progress your first point of contact is always your child’s classroom teacher. If necessary, they will be able to refer you to the appropriate Assistant Head as required.
As the College continues to grow, we are trialling some canteen changes to make it easier for primary students to access the canteen.
Last term students got used to collecting their lunch orders from the Bethany Building foyer. This term they will come to the same place to purchase any recess or lunch items. There will be designated lines for year levels so that everyone is served in a timely manner. Year 6 students can continue to go to the original canteen location.
If students are placing cash lunch orders on the day, please bring these to the Bethany Building foyer kitchen before school, rather than at recess so that canteen staff can ensure that they can be supplied.

Term 3 was a slam dunk for our school’s Year 5 and 6 basketball enthusiasts!
We’re thrilled to see our students excel in their extracurricular activities, and this year’s Hoop Time was no exception. A big shoutout to all who participated—your dedication and teamwork were truly inspiring. Congratulations to our All-Stars and Future Stars teams who made it to the Regional District Competition. Your hard work and sportsmanship continue to make us proud. Keep up the fantastic work, and let’s keep the ball rolling into the next term!
